Well, that’s 90 minutes of my life I’m not getting back. Average groupie = NOT glamorous. Watch at your own risk ha. There’s a reason I tend to overlook the seedier aspects. Ahh, I’m probably being too harsh – parts of it were pretty interesting (the short haired blond girl is hilarious and some of the music is really good). Here are the mentions of Zep – 20:21, 33:19, 35:40 (my fave – but she doesn’t look very healthy, eek).
Side note – the maker of the film apparently said this of LZ: “We started to shoot Led Zeppelin off the cuff. But their manager and lawyer immediately forbade us from shooting them any further, which was just as well because based on their carryings-on, we couldn’t have gotten the film distributed. That scene’s sicker than the Marquis De Sade’s. The film would have been pure exploitation horror … the Led Zeppelin aren’t in the film because I decided that they were too big and also because they were too freaky and not representative.”
Ouch! 😀 One has to wonder if he’s not stretching the truth a leeeetle bit. It doesn’t sound like it was his decision at all. There’s no way Peter Grant would have EVER allowed inclusion. Funny story, though.

Okay, y’all know that I’m a 70′s Rob girl, but this is wonderful. For a lot of reasons. His voice is lovely, and the song is beautiful. But. His body language is so interesting to me. When I watch him, I see someone who’s torn between the big lion posturing from the Zep days and the man that had to escape all that. He’s tentative in a way. Almost as if he wants to let go, but then he quells it. Probably not a great way to explain it … sigh. Fantastic song.
